Traveling further into Europe, to Greece more specifically, there is a band by the name "BattleroaR". Formed within Athens roughly around 2000. They possess a sound distinct to that of the 80's American/European Metal sound. Specifically, their sound closely resembles that of Ronnie James Dio.
Being of that 80's Metal/Hard-Rock, Glam Metal in a form, type sound, they stand out in this day and age. Their sound being more distinct and closer to the recent Metal origins. And being within the 2000, they have something going for them.
Starting off with a self financed debut album, simply dubbed "Promo". Slightly heavier than the later 2 releases/ Further dubbed "Battleroar", self titled and the most recent "Age of Chaos". Gradually building the Heavy sound between the albums, they are still fitting into their calling sound. But thus far, they are holding on tightly with their current sound. Especially with the benefit of sticking out among the masses.

All in all, if you are a fan of Dio, then at least look into BattleroaR. They have his distinctive sound. Not exactly, but very similar. Enough to kind of wet your appetite.
