German Profound.

Once again, taking another crack in the U.K., Germany, comes a band named "Lacrimas Profundere". Formed back in 1993, they started off with a Doom/Gothic type sound. But after their 3rd album, they let off the doom feel for a more Metal feel. Making them one of the many Gothic/Metal bands within the area. But they do their tunes well, in that it isn't exactly explosive Metal, but more 'Building-Up Mellow ', or Ambient.

First 3 albums revolved around a Doom Metal sense, but the focus is after their transfer to Gothic Metal. The theme they have stuck with and are continuously developing. With their albums "And the Wings Embraced Us", "La Naissance d'un RĂªve" and "Memorandum" being those Doom influenced albums.

The major turning point was with "Burning: A Wish". Where it hinted at the sound, but was forcefully taking another standpoint. The music really began to reform with "Fall, I Will Follow" which was the main crossing for the albums to follow. "Ave End", "Filthy Notes For Frozen Hearts" and "Songs for the Last View" the more recent, and having a similar sound among them. Which does wonders when maintaining a fanbase.

The later albums prove to be more captivating than the earlier material. But with the first 3 being re-issued, that sound has been given a second chance to be heard. Give them a test, and be surprised.

Till next time.

Cheers.
