Second Take.

Greetings.

My apologies for not keeping up with suit of how I started with this. I have been slightly focusing on obtaining Band permissions for hosting a few tracks of select material. So stay tuned. I may get granted for some cool stuff soon.

And to start some things off, I obtained permission from Kory Clarke Representative to link to his personal Tune Widget:

Kory%20ClarkeQuantcast

It is a good start. And a special Thank You to Jayni for granting use of this link.

And Kory's Ghetto Nation has been 'Digg' posted.

Check out the link: Kory Clarke: Ghetto Nation.

Secondly, my efforts will be cut slightly. I may be updating every few days with a new Band and material.

And for the future, I may be re-writing my mini-review/bio's of bands to make them more informational. And will be categorizing the Band Player Links (to the right) into a more organized fashion.

So lot's of good stuff coming. Keep watch.

Till next time.
Cheers.

Gold Rush.

There was a small band type project after the disbanding of the band 'Toxsin'. The Guitarist, Klaus, formed the little known band named "Project - Goldrausch". Translated to be "GoldRush Project".

Being of a similar sound to that of Toxsin, Electronics/Metal type, they didn't really stand out. They only produced 1 album. An E.P. dubbed "Sorgenkind".

This didn't last past the E.P. and Klaus went on to form the Band named "Guitarminator". Mostly composed of electronic instruments.

But since the Gouldrausch album is extremely difficult to find, there is only 1 site available to listen to 2 tracks from their album. So bear with it, if you are interested.

Project - Goldrausch

They don't have a band sound, but they could have refined more had they stayed together.

On another note, Klaus formed the band named "Cold Rush' after the demise of Goldrausch. Containing slightly more Electronics, but within the same style type. Give them a listen.

Check them out: Cold Rush.

Till next time.

Brandished Arms.

Traveling further into Europe, to Greece more specifically, there is a band by the name "BattleroaR". Formed within Athens roughly around 2000. They possess a sound distinct to that of the 80's American/European Metal sound. Specifically, their sound closely resembles that of Ronnie James Dio.

Being of that 80's Metal/Hard-Rock, Glam Metal in a form, type sound, they stand out in this day and age. Their sound being more distinct and closer to the recent Metal origins. And being within the 2000, they have something going for them.

Starting off with a self financed debut album, simply dubbed "Promo". Slightly heavier than the later 2 releases/ Further dubbed "Battleroar", self titled and the most recent "Age of Chaos". Gradually building the Heavy sound between the albums, they are still fitting into their calling sound. But thus far, they are holding on tightly with their current sound. Especially with the benefit of sticking out among the masses.

Check them out: BattleroaR

Their site: BattleroaR.com

All in all, if you are a fan of Dio, then at least look into BattleroaR. They have his distinctive sound. Not exactly, but very similar. Enough to kind of wet your appetite.

Till next time.

Darkest Before Dawn.

As of late, the state I reside in has begun the "Daylight Saving's Time" which has pushed everything 1 hour ahead... So there was a slight delay for updates. But this is a non-band update. As I wanted to share that this blog has been given a 'Digg' article.

Viewable here: Choice Hard-Rock/Metal.

So, go ahead and 'Digg' this blog. Share it even. And let this grow to cover many more bands and features.

And to wrap up the short update, I have been given permission from the ex-band Induce to feature a few songs for download. So, that will be one feature to add presently. So send a big thanks to Chris from Induce for granting the permission!
Containing 4 songs, check it out.

Download them here: Induce: Hell And Retribution.__Sampler.

Also updated the right navigation with the new section for the downloadable material.

And till next time.
Cheers.

Debuting Syrym.

Returning to the U.S. California to be specific... From the Ashes of a little known band that has existed from the late 8o's named "Babylon A.D.", came the band named "Syrym". Composing of a similar Hard-Rock as heard from the 80's, with an obvious modern inclusion, they have sprung back.

Releasing their self titled debut CD, shortly after the Babylon A.D. reunion tour last year. It has been only seen as an Independent release. Meaning mainstream store branches will not have it. Unless it is more Universal. CDbaby contains their debut, as well as Amazon.

But with their initial album, it follows true to the standard of 'used to be' band albums. Mostly containing songs of a 'build-up' type nature. But also having a few mellow songs spread between the major audio climax's. But if you are familiar with Babylon A.D., then you may already have a taste for what Syrym has to offer.

Check them out: Syrym

Their site: Syrym.com

One can say that they have a near Post-Punk type sound. Or Glam that was made popular over recent years as trying to mimic the Hair-Metal and the general 80's sounding music.

Till next time.

German Profound.

Once again, taking another crack in the U.K., Germany, comes a band named "Lacrimas Profundere". Formed back in 1993, they started off with a Doom/Gothic type sound. But after their 3rd album, they let off the doom feel for a more Metal feel. Making them one of the many Gothic/Metal bands within the area. But they do their tunes well, in that it isn't exactly explosive Metal, but more 'Building-Up Mellow ', or Ambient.

First 3 albums revolved around a Doom Metal sense, but the focus is after their transfer to Gothic Metal. The theme they have stuck with and are continuously developing. With their albums "And the Wings Embraced Us", "La Naissance d'un Rêve" and "Memorandum" being those Doom influenced albums.

The major turning point was with "Burning: A Wish". Where it hinted at the sound, but was forcefully taking another standpoint. The music really began to reform with "Fall, I Will Follow" which was the main crossing for the albums to follow. "Ave End", "Filthy Notes For Frozen Hearts" and "Songs for the Last View" the more recent, and having a similar sound among them. Which does wonders when maintaining a fanbase.

Check hem out: Lacrimas Profundere

Their site: LacrimasProfundere.com

The later albums prove to be more captivating than the earlier material. But with the first 3 being re-issued, that sound has been given a second chance to be heard. Give them a test, and be surprised.

Till next time.

Opiate Frontier.

Back to tie one loose end, that is for "Kory Clarke". So far, the only man referenced multiple times. This time, it is for his solo album, dubbed "Opium Hotel". With how he portrays his vocals during Warrior Soul, Mob Research, Trouble, Space Age Playboys, Dirty Rig, you can see what the album consists of. More along the lines of 'Anti-Government'. Along the lines, not exactly depicted.

During this solo album, Kory took up and left the Main Industry in order to produce the album to how he foresaw it. It is very deep, and has a pure message, that must be heard in order to understand. The album is more Ambient/Hard-Rock. But carries rather well. Includes some of his Stand-Up Poetry, turned Lyrics. This is especially portrayed within the Final Song...

However, it wasn't met with a main market producer, so the album is rather limited. It has been pulled from many stores. So if you are interested, Ebay/Amazon are your best bets.

For now, test him out: KoryClarke

That page contains tidbits from his multi-band discography. But currently possesses 2 Opium Hotel tracks.

His site is rather select, and is a Blog format. It requires special admission to keep only the 'Die Hard' fans up-to-date' of what happens.

Directions are as follows:

______"Please send an email to with "Subscription Request" in the title field and we will send you the PayPal link and instructions to subscribe.

There is a nominal subscription fee of just $10 a year to cover the cost of hosting videos etc, but there will be music, videos, and photos here that you can get nowhere else."

* You will need a valid gmail address for access.

It is a rather good deal. And I won't infringe on their behalf. So test him out. If you like his work, then give "GhetoNation" a chance.

And, if you wish to 'Digg' that statement for Ghetto Nation...

The link is here: Kory Clarke: Ghetto Nation.

Till next time.

Power Biker Rock.

This time, swinging back to the U.S. To a band named "Circus of Power". They were established by "Crucial Truth's" Alex Mitchel. Forming Circus of Power, was the turning point for Alex. After being part of Crucial Truth, and "Saint Mary's Children of Salvation", he wanted to take another approach o the music industry. Circus of Power was that answer.

Producing 3 albums, dubbed "Circus of Power" (Self titled), "Vices" and "Magic & Madness", they were accepted well within the early 90's. Carrying the sound of something along the lines of 'Southern Metal', they were self proclaimed as 'Biker Rock'. This can be noticed among the catchy tracks.

The band was going strong until misfortune hit. The band separated soon after the third album, and was separate since. Afterward, Alex was part of/formed the bands "Fat Nancy", "Plastic Gator Machine", "Second Ring of Power" (questionable source) and "Uncle Max's Cosmic Band". He even had an E.P., dubbed "Showbiz Al", which was available only at Plastic Gator Tour shows.

The post projects were mostly Southern Rock, but were quite partial to Alex's voice. They meshed rather well. Even though the post projects were more Independent. So obtaining these albums may prove to be difficult.

Well, check them out: Circus of Power

Their site: CircusofPower.net

As of 2008, Alex put together a Circus of Power Tribute album, composed of many Independent bands. Whom catch the sentiment of the original track's essence. And as well, as of this year, Alex will be re-issuing the Circus of Power debut album. With a 4000 essay about the band.

I'd say that after 2008, things are looking up for Alex and Circus of Power. A reunion is possible. Especially with several small circuit tours.

Till next time.

Toxic Declining.

Bouncing back to Germany, there was an independent band named "Toxsin". They were recommended to fans of both "Rammstein" and "Megaherz". So obviously with that kind of label, they must have something to show for. And lo, once listening to the CD, the answer is offered subtly yet noticeable.

They produced only 1 album, dubbed "Illusion". It is a more Industrial/Gothic Metal type sound. And with that they have dual vocalists. One main, and one select for backing. And most songs off the album utilize this. They maintain their sound for the entire album, it is just too bad they only produced the 1. They really had something here.

But after the album was released, a few years after, they split. Rumor had it that few members from Toxsin, and few from Megaherz came together to form the band named "Projekt Goldrausch". But search results only point to another statement about it. Leading to this probably being false.

________

They do not have a myspace account either to offer sound pleasure. However, they do have an iLike page. That contains 1 song from their album, and 1 song I have yet to determine it's origin. So enjoy the 2 tracks available.

Which is here: iLike Toxsin.

Hopefully some info turns op on the recent, hear/say band Projekt Goldrausch, so that this particular sound isn't completely dead. But who really knows...

Till next time.

Cheers.

Glancing Forth.

Treading from Germany, comes a fresh band from Italy. Named "The Foreshadowing". They have a main Metal/Down Tempo type sound. It is Guitar/Drum driven with good vocals. But it isn't explosive. It is more 'melodic' and carries well. Fair build-ups and break-downs within their music. This is a good start for a Debut Album. Theirs being dubbed "Days of Nothing".

Slightly focused on a Gothic approach within their music, but it sounds very good. And the vocals are primarily English. So enjoying the Music and Vocal aspects will be easy.

Check them out: The Foreshadowing

Their site: The Foreshadowing.com

They have some good and catchy Drums, and Guitar riffs. And from Italy, they stand out among the recent Bands. They give ample time for the Instruments to come together before Vocals come into play. So you get a taste of the sound direction, then get a taste of vocal direction. Give them a try. You may be surprised.

Till next time.

Emigrate Battering.

Remaining within Germany, one must mention the branching band from the band named 'Rammstein', by creator Richard, who also formed the band 'Emigrate'. During a year break from the main band, Richard formed Emigrate to keep busy and maintain his ability on Guitar. But here, within an album mostly driven in Hard-Rock (almost industrial) and Minor Gothic Metal, he features his voice to fill the Vocals as well as lead guitar.

After forming the band, few months pass. They produce an album that is self titled. Or dubbed 'Emigrate'. And to date, only 1 key Single, dubbed 'Temptation'. Featuring only 2 songs previously released. But good ones that follow suit of the debut.

The debut album contains 13 tracks (if you get the Special Edition), or 11 with standard. But it keeps the main style of Rammstein, but also include a more 'independent' feel to the production. This is a recommended album.

Check them out: Emigrate

Their website (hardly updated): Emigrate.Eu

The site also includes a track sampler for a few select tracks. But either way, you can have a listen. Richard uses English Vocals. So that is one of the differences to note.

Till next time.
